So we chose our bicycles! After reading a number of reviews, studying makers and models, learning the pros and cons of each type of frame material for our purpose, we finally have settled for a particular bike: the Surly Long Haul Trucker.
Surly is known for being an extremely professional yet cool maker of durable, high-quality touring bicycles that are priced at a fair rate. Their star for touring trips is the Long Haul Trucker bike, which is very well known bicycle in the riders community. We chose size 56cm for the frame and 700c for the wheels.
The frame is made of a special amalgamation called 4130 CroMoly steel, which is very resistant but not too heavy.
It is also worthy mentioning the shifters are Shimano bar-end , SL-BS77 2/3 x 9-speed which guarantees we can both haul heavy loads and tackle some hard slopes, although we will try to stay clear from them as much as possible.
